About

ROAD CYCLING SERIES

The Support SA Talent Road Cycling Series and data rankings project was launched in 2018, to recognise local South African Talent. We currently track and rank over 1 000 athletes in the Junior, U23, Elite, VA and VB categories across more than 30 South African road cycling events annually. Athletes and Teams earn points, based on their performance at these events and, the winners - across 14 competitions - are recognised at our annual Awards Event, hosted by Phil Liggett. (attached Rules and Calendar) Due to Covid-19, many events were cancelled or postponed in March 2020 and the Series was put on hold until September 2020. The event post lockdown that were added back to the Series include the Fat Sheep Classic (6 September 2020) followed by the Lost City Classic (11 October 2020) and Joburg Classic (15 November 2020).

The Series has over 260 registered South African riders, who have participated in 17-weeks of competition, using our own registered event on the Zwift Platform. The Series is primarily focussed on the Youth, Junior, U23/Elite and Veteran Racing Categories.
